Shining a lamp!

plastic-lightsBedfordshire fire and rescue needed a helping hand from us last month with designing, drawing and machining some new rear lamp and reflector holders. These were going to be fitted to their tenders that were in the garage for some upgrades and repairs. The skilled chaps in their workshop often call on us to help out with small batch projects like this one to which we are always happy to oblige.

They were fitting standard lamp holders to the fire engines but often found they didn’t last and were a problem when it came to maintenance. After we were given a brief in what they needed, we came up with the dog bone lamp holder. Machined from a solid lump of black Acetal the lamp holders will eventually be fitted to all the tenders in the Bedfordshire area. Giving the mechanics in a very busy workshop one less thing to worry about.
